This setting of i carry your heart uses only a few short lines from E. E. Cummings' poem of the same name in a mantra-like fashion. The phrase, "I carry your heart with me" is repeated a number of times using different textures, harmonies and voices, thus reenforcing the idea of intertwining two souls into one. Men's and women's voices are often at odds in this setting and come together only in moments of absolute unity.

In 2014 it was selected for performance by Dr. Lee Nelson and the Iowa All-State Chorus, making Connor the youngest composer to ever have a work performed by the ensemble.
