Little to Say

Attempted Resurrection

Making yet again ANOTHER attempt at blogging here. I can't begin to tell you how many times I have either started, thought about starting, or wish I had started a blog. This is a painstaking task, one that, in my opinion, is worth the pain. Although it may require great mental capacity to eloquently employ my thoughts and ramblings, I consider it "worth the risk".

Do I expect to revolutionize public perception of music and its function in the expectedly limited verbiage used in this space?

No.

I am hoping to redefine my own thoughts on all things creative? Music? Art?

Maybe.

Do I care if anyone enjoys reading and or pretending to read this?

I'd be lying if I said no.... because I do. Which is silly, I know.

What is my goal?

To think...... to express my thinking.... to do so in a way that doesn't completely destroy my own intent to be creative and seek to make art that alters the way people interpret their surroundings. Which is the goal of great art, right? To stretch oneself. To stretch those who need to be stretched.

So here is what you can expect.....

I am going to state my whereabouts regarding music that I am writing. Which often pertains to an aspect of my life that I hope to be identifiable. I plan to update this per EACH PIECE that I write in the next year (2016/2017). Yeah..... one can only hope I will be steadfast in this pursuit!

I think the blog will be titled something along the lines of.... "Little to Say" or "LtS".... I am stealing this form a Wendell Berry poem I set months ago...

There is a place you can go where you are quiet,
a place of water and the light
on the water.

Trees are there, leaves, and the light
on leaves moved by air.

Birds, singing, move
among leaves, in leaf shadow.

After many years you have come

to no thought of these,  but they are themselves

your thoughts. There seems to be little to say, less and less.

Here they are. Here you are.

-Wendell Berry, from "Sabbaths 1998"

If you want to hear a recording/see a score, visit the piece... here.

So there you have it. My redemption. The long awaited comeback. Right?    RIGHT??????

Until next time,

"To be determined parting quote that will articulate my thoughts on daily living".
